Rockstar Games has set the entire gaming community on high alert after officially announcing an "Extended Look" showcase for Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled for August 27. This upcoming presentation promises to move past basic teaser trailers and give fans an in-depth preview of what is arguably the most anticipated video game of the decade. Gamers around the world are eagerly waiting to see deeper gameplay mechanics, broader world-building details across the state of Leonida, and a clearer picture of how the dual-protagonist story featuring Jason and Lucia will operate in practice.

Along with the showcase announcement, Rockstar reaffirmed the official release timeline for the game. GTA 6 is currently set to launch on November 19, 2026, targeting current-generation hardware exclusively at launch. Owners of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be the first to jump into the expanded, highly detailed reimagining of Vice City. The hardware capabilities of these current-gen consoles are expected to drive the game’s dense traffic systems, enhanced weather simulation, and complex population mechanics, which is why older platforms are being left behind.

However, the announcement brings familiar frustration for desktop players, as Rockstar has once again held back on detailing a PC version. Continuing the multi-platform rollout strategy seen with major titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, the developer has not provided a release date or time frame for a PC port. While this staggered approach allows Rockstar to optimize the experience for unified console hardware first, it leaves PC players waiting in the wings for official updates down the road.
